In anticipation of the holiday season, you might co. While, you believe that a new bathroom will be complicated, and may never happen — there is in fact an easy, affordable way to go about installing a bathroom. Firstly, it macerates breaks up the human waste in the toilet using a blade. Secondly, instead of flushing waste through drainage in the floor, a macerating toilet system uses a centrifugal pump to flush the waste out of the toilet and into the general waste system.
Each has its own separate function that works together to help flush waste away from your home. When the toilet is flushed, the waste urine, faeces, toilet paper is funnelled from the toilet bowl and into a blade. When the waste hits the blade, it will be macerated into smaller pieces.
This allows the waste to be flushed into the general waste system with ease. After the waste has been macerated by the blade, it will then go on to gather in the tank also known as a soil stack. Over time the waste will accumulate in the tank, slowly raising the float switch.
When the waste reaches a certain level, the float switch will detect pressure from the water and will operate the microswitch. The microswitch then activates the impeller. The impeller is what powers the pump, shifting the waste into the discharge pipe and out of the toilet. Finally, now the impeller is activated, the waste is pumped out of the macerating system and into the local drainage system. In the majority of situations, a conventional toilet system works out as a far more practical and cheaper option than a saniflo toilet system.
But sometimes, a saniflo is an easier, cheaper and less time-consuming toilet to install. These situations include:.
If you have no existing underground drainage lines, then a macerator toilet will be far cheaper to install than a regular toilet. Removing the need to rip up flooring or foundations, a macerating toilet can be installed without any sort of drainage line. If installing a bathroom quickly is important, then a macerating toilet is the better option. Installing a toilet can be a big job for a plumber, especially if you need to install underground drainage lines. Taking around two days to install, a macerator toilet is a much quicker job.
If you have an en suite, for example, you may not want to remove walls or flooring in your bedroom. In this case, a macerator toilet system will be the perfect option.
In some cases, it might be that you only need a toilet installed temporarily for an elderly or disabled tenant. In this situation, it would be more practical to install a saniflo toilet that can be easily removed at any time. The latest models also have a carbon filter incorporated into the air inlet valve. We also recommend a regular cleaning routine to keep your Saniflo in optimum condition. What is the difference between a Saniflo and a level access pump?
All normal Saniflo products rely on gravity in order to function. The Saniflo Showermatic pump actually sucks the waste water from the shower waste and therefore can be installed above the height of the waste itself meaning it is easily accessible and far easier to install.
Is the Showermatic noisy? It utilises a patented peristaltic mechanism which means that it is virtually silent in operation. Does the Showermatic rely on flow switches? The pump will remain on as long as water is there. I want to install a low access shower onto an unbreachable concrete floor. How can I do this?
There are several ways in which this can be achieved. In most situations a low 40mm high shower tray would require the addition of a riser kit adjustable feet to be fitted in order to raise the tray sufficiently for the waste trap to be fitted above floor level.
In some cases you may find this acceptable, but the addition of these feet will raise the height of the tray to over mm, which may defeat the whole purpose of having a low level tray! Just look for details of the Traymatic. What is Sanicubic?
The waste is pumped through 50mm pipework. It pumps up to 11m vertically or m horizontally or a lesser combination of vertical and horizontal. Discharge pipe size for Sanicubic is 50mm. It is also very important that the air vent 50mm should be open at the top. Do not install an air admittance valve as the Sanicubic will not operate correctly if you do. Always fit isolation valves both inlet and outlet since servicing may be very difficult if not impossible without this.
Any shower tray must be raised mm off the ground if used with Sanicubic. Can I connect two or more WC's to a Sanicubic? Its twin heavy duty motors make it ideal for demanding high usage situations. Filter by. Filter by Finish. Gloss 1 item. Add to cart Please wait
